DOCTORS IN OUR GROUP Steven Carl Halbert, M.D. - Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine HEALTHCARE STAFF Doris Ferleger, Ph.D. - Psychologist Doris Ferleger, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist, with over twenty five years of experience as a helping professional, received her Master's Degree from Villanova University in 1974, and her Doctoral Degree from Temple University, in 1985. She also received three years of post-doctoral training in clinical psychology, and continues to study several areas of interest in the field of pyschology. Dr. Ferleger is the staff psychologist at Preventive Medicine Group, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital's Center for Integrative Medicine, and at Community Council for Mental Health. Dr. Ferleger helps clients to resolve current problems and concerns, as well as past issues that may be interefering with experiencing fulfillment in the present. She assists clients in diminishing self-defeating thoughts and behaviors which can cause depression, anxiety, stress, and unhappiness. Depending on the needs of the individual, clients are helped to develop coping strategies, relationship and communication skills, stress-reduction, self-acceptance, and skills to manage life transitions or chronic illness. Commonly treated problems include: Anxiety, Depression, Mid-life transitions, Grief/loss, Aging, Food/body image issues, Relationship conflicts, Divorce, Adolescents with difficulties, Parenting skills, Commication skills, Women's issues, Assertiveness, Chronic illness, Post Traumatic Stress, Stress management, ACOA, and Self-Esteem. Dr. Ferleger lectures and conducts workshops locally and nationally on numerous topics including Stress Management, Coping with Chronic illness, Body Image/ Food Issues for Women, Empowerment Through Positive Thinking, Expressive Writing For Self-Healing, and Creative Movement. Dr. Ferleger is a member of the American Psychological Association, and The Association for Women in Psychology. Also a published poet, Dr. Ferleger's works have been published in numerous literary journals and anthologies.
